The halo (from the Greek halos, for ring or disc) is a phenomenon seen in nature as a ring around the sun or moon, a result of refracted or reflected light.

That is about as tough to answer as when asked, “Why do I like life?” Both are very broad topics, and ones we don’t expect to analyze.
