Priest Assignments for June and July 2023

Bishop Jacques Fabre-Jeune, CS, has approved the following priest assignments:

EFFECTIVE JUNE 6:

Rev. Msgr. Ronald R. Cellini, VF, has resigned as Vicar for Priests and Secretary for the Clergy, and remains pastor of St. Gregory the Great Church in Bluffton.

Very Rev. Canon Gary S. Linsky, VF, is now Vicar for Priests and Secretary for the Clergy, in addition to his duties as pastor of the Basilica of St. Peter in Columbia.

EFFECTIVE JUNE 16:

Rev. Robert Higgins is now parochial vicar of St. John Neumann Church in Columbia.

EFFECTIVE JUNE 28 & 30:

With the withdrawal of the Redemptorist Order from the Diocese of Charleston, the following have now left: Rev. Blas Caceres, CSsR; Rev. Michael Koncik, CSsR; Rev. George Rosario, CSsR; and Rev. Peter E. Sousa, CSsR.

EFFECTIVE JULY 1:

Rev. Santiago Guzman Pizarro is now parochial vicar of Our Lady of the Hills Church in Columbia.

Rev. Paul Lacombe is now parochial vicar of the Cathedral of St John the Baptist in Charleston and chaplain for the College of Charleston.

EFFECTIVE JULY 15:

Rev. Bruce Barnet is now pastor of Our Lady of the Hills Church in Columbia.

Rev. Msgr. Steven L. Brovey is now pastor of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in Simpsonville.

Rev. Norbert Mendonca is now pastor of St. Louis Church in Dillon and Church of the Infant Jesus Mission in Marion.

Very Rev. C. Thomas Miles, JCL, is assigned as full-time judicial vicar of the Tribunal at the Chancery in Charleston.

Rev. Anthony Swamy, MSSCC, is now administrator of St. Mary, Our Lady of Ransom Church in Georgetown.

Rev. James Touzeau is now pastor of Sacred Heart Church in Gaffney and St. Augustine Church in Union.
