As he approaches his ninth year as an investment advisor representative with the Knights of Columbus Asset Advisors, Brandon said he never dreamed he would be named International FIC of the Year. It was awarded by the National Association of Fraternal Insurance Counselors (NAFIC), a professional association that represents and supports individuals who work in the fraternal insurance industry in North America. 

NAFIC prides itself on reflecting the fraternal insurance industry’s commitment to social responsibility and community engagement. The organization also serves as a voice for the fraternal insurance industry, advocating for policies and regulations that support the industry’s growth and development.

The Knights of Columbus is a fraternal benefit society under NAFIC because it provides social and financial benefits to its members who share a common bond. Annually, the NAFIC awards a top representative as the International FIC of the year based on various member societies’ nominees. 

Although Brandon has worked for the KofC as a financial advisor and insurance agent for nine years, he has been a member for 20 years. He said that he enjoys helping families with financial advice during the best and worst of times. 

Interestingly, Brandon did not initially want to major in finance when he went to college. He was interested in meteorology but had decided to pursue finance by the time he started school in 2009.

“Each stop in life was preparing me to get to this location,” he said.

Brandon worked in water and sanitation and with a chemical company before his job with the KofC.

Brandon said he loves his job because he continues to grow and enjoys connecting with clients on a spiritual and personal level. 

“The three things I pray for each day are to serve our brother Knights and their families to the best of my abilities — helping them to achieve their goals, dreams and desires and not my own — [then] helping to continue the dream of our founder, Blessed Michael McGivney, while most importantly honoring the Lord with all I do,” Brandon said.

Very Rev. Gregory B. Wilson is rector of the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist and Brandon’s pastor. He gave one of the glowing recommendations for Brandon to win this award.

“Brandon has an extraordinary way of being fully engaged with seemingly limitless energy, all the while being one of the most humble men I have met,” Father Wilson said. “His faith is not an appendage. Faith in Christ seems to flow from his very heart.”
