Priest Assignments - Summer 2024

Bishop Jacques Fabre-Jeune, CS, has approved the following priest assignments:

Rev. JohnBosco Ikemeh is now administrator of St. Patrick Church in Charleston, effective April 1.

Rev. Ronald J. Farrell has retired as pastor of Holy Family Church in Hilton Head Island, effective April 4.

Rev. Christopher Loester is now administrator pro tem of Holy Family Church in Hilton Head Island, effective April 5. 

Rev. David Phan, OFM, is now the diocesan coordinator of Vietnamese ministry and administrator of Our Lady of LaVang Church in Greer, effective April 15. 

Rev. Rafael Padron, CRM, is now the diocesan coordinator of Hispanic Ministries and remains parochial vicar of Jesus Our Risen Savior Church in Spartanburg, effective April 15.

Rev. Boniface Maasoayele, new to the diocese, is now parochial vicar at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Murrells Inlet, effective April 17.

Rev. Robinson Antonio León Álvarez has departed the Diocese of Charleston, effective April 26. 

Rev. Paul MacNeil, pastor of Precious Blood of Christ Church in Pawleys Island, will also be dean pro tem of the Myrtle Beach Deanery, effective May 3.

Rev. Cirilo Bailon will be parochial vicar of St. Andrew Church in Myrtle Beach, effective May 15. 

Rev. Emerson Rodriguez will be the administrator of St. Anthony of Padua Church in Greenville, effective May 15. 

Rev. Andrew Fryml will be coordinator of campus ministry as well as coordinator of Catholic education in the Charleston and Columbia Deaneries, with residence at the Basilica of St. Peter, Columbia, effective July 1.

Rev. Edward Fitzgerald will be on a six-month sabbatical, effective July 1.

Rev. Joseph Romanoski will be pastor at St. Michael the Archangel Church in Murrells Inlet, effective July 1. 

Rev. Gustavo Corredor will be parochial vicar at St. Phillip Benizi Church in Moncks Corner, Our Lady of Peace Mission in Bonneau, and the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Charleston, plus provide assistance to the Office of Hispanic Ministry, effective July 1.

Rev. Erik Roman will be parochial vicar of the Basilica of St. Peter in Columbia, effective July 1. 

Rev. Peter O'Steen will be parochial vicar of St. Joseph Church in Columbia and chaplain at Cardinal Newman School, effective July 1. 

Rev. Daniel McLellan, OFM, will retire as pastor of St. Andrew Church in Clemson, effective July 31. 

Rev. Msgr. Charles Rowland will retire as pastor from Holy Spirit Church in Johns Island, effective July 31. 

Rev. Derrick Sneyd will retire as parochial vicar from Blessed Sacrament Church in Charleston, effective July 31.

Rev. Francis Mfeseo will be parochial vicar of Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Myrtle Beach, effective Aug. 1. 

Rev. Matthew Gray will be administrator of St. Andrew Church in Clemson, effective Aug. 1. 

Rev. Stephen Dyas will be administrator of Holy Spirit Church on Johns Island, effective, Aug. 1.

Previous priest assignments approved by Bishop Jacques Fabre-Jeune, CS, include:

  • Rev. Prasad Antony, MSSCC, pastor of St. Edward Church in Murphy Village, has returned to his religious order, effective Dec. 18, 2023.
  • Rev. John DeBritto, MSSCC, is now administrator of St. Andrew Church in Barnwell and St. Mary Mission in Allendale, and remains parochial vicar of Holy Trinity Church in Orangeburg, effective Dec. 19, 2023.
  • Rev. William Frei is now parochial vicar of St. Mary Church in Greenville with duties at San Sebastian Mission, effective Jan. 10.
  • Rev. Raynald Nacino is now parochial vicar of St. Francis by the Sea Church in Hilton Head, effective Jan. 10.
  • Rev. Max Tria is now parochial vicar of St. Mary Magdalene Church in Simpsonville, effective Jan. 10.
  • Rev. Sebastian Thomas, CRM, has departed from the diocese, effective Jan. 15.
  • Rev. German Coquilla, CRM, is now parochial vicar of Immaculate Conception Church in Goose Creek, effective Jan. 15.
