Ancient Order of Hibernians donate to five schools in the Midlands

COLUMBIA—Jim Lawracy, of the An­cient Order of Hibernians Richland County Division 1, presented Jacqua­line Kasprowski, principal of Car­dinal Newman School, with a check for $300. Each year, the Richland County division provides donations to Catholic schools in Columbia for their scholarship funds. The total this year was $1,700.

Goodier wins national essay contest

CHARLESTON—Carson Goodier, a student at Charleston Catholic School, won the National Beta Club Essay award at the national convention in New Orleans, La. Over 13,000 people from across the nation attended the con­vention to represent their schools.


St. Mary students fill baby bottles

AIKEN—St. Mary Help of Christians School students presented a check for $1,990.02 to Kathryn Wade, the executive director of Life Choices Pregnancy Care Center. Students collected funds during their annual Lenten Baby Bottle project.
