Outreach golf tournament a success

JOHNS ISLAND – Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach raised $50,000 to help support its many services recently with a successful golf tournament held at The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek. The tournament attracted 80 golfers and included a cocktail hour, dinner and awards.


Our Lady Star of the Sea ladies guild donates a gift for Teen Angel

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH—Our Lady Star of the Sea ladies guild presented a check for $600 to the Teen Angel North Myrtle Beach High School group, a local organization that assists homeless and less fortunate students. Crowning Mary at St. Martin de Porres

Young adult retreat

KIAWAH ISLAND—The Office of Youth and Young Adult Ministry for the Diocese of Charleston sponsored a retreat at Camp St. Christopher recently. The event brought in 62 young adults from throughout the state. Speakers included: Fathers Marcin Zahuta, Andrew Fryml and Joseph Romanoski; and Rachel Neubauer, associate director of Young Adult Ministry.
