SIMPSONVILLE—Rachael D’Hoore, a member of St. Mary Magdalene Church, was chosen as the recipient of the annual $1,500 Father William F. Pentis Scholarship Award from the South Carolina Council of Catholic Women. Rachael is a graduate of Mauldin High School, where she earned academic honors. She plans to attend Clemson University in the fall.
Knights golf tournament raises funds for memorial wall
GEORGETOWN/PAWLEYS ISLAND—Knights of Columbus Assembly 3272 raised $5,200 from their 9 Hole Captain’s Choice Golf Tournaments held recently. The money was donated for the construction of a memorial wall honoring the men and women of the Georgetown County community who gave their lives in our nation’s military conflicts, starting with the Revolutionary War.
Fun Nun Bowl nets $10,000
