Monday, June 22

An ecumenical prayer service led by Father Michael Okere, pastor of St. Martin de Porres Church in Columbia and diocesan Vicar for Black Catholics, was held in honor of the victims of the shooting at Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston.

Sunday, June 21

Bishop Robert E. Guglielmone leads hundreds of participants in praying the rosary outside Emanuel AME Church at 7 p.m. Father Henry Kulah from St. Patrick and Father Dennis Willey from Sacred Heart churches also participated. In the third photo, Yvonne Orr, a member of St. Patrick, speaks to the crowd.

Friday, June 19

Members of the Manna Life Center lead a community prayer service at Neighborhood House in Charleston, which is part of Our Lady of Mercy Community Outreach Center. They prayed for the victims of the shootings, and the children who lost their parents. Outside of Emanuel AME Church, people continue to leave memorials showing their support.
