Robert Higgins

2nd year theology at St. Vincent de Paul Regional Seminary, Boynton Beach, Fla.

Birthplace/date: Aug. 22, 1960, Liberty, N.Y.

Home parish/location: St. Mary of the Annunciation, Charleston

Family: Mom in Brunswick, Ga., and dad in Livingston Manor, N.Y., one sister in Statesboro, Ga.

Favorite aspect of seminary: the freedom to increase my relationship with God

Most difficult aspect of seminary: It’s my 12th year in the seminary; so I’ll say patience and perseverance.

Three people you would like to meet: God the father, God the son, and God the Holy Spirit

Who inspired your vocation: my maternal grandmother and the many priests and nuns of my youth

What do you do for stress relief: exercise an hour a day

Last book you read: The Virtue of Prosperity, by Dinesh D’Souza

What was your occupation before entering the seminary: owned two restaurants and before that a construction manager in New York City

Time period you would like to visit: 1950-1963, just before Vatican II

If you were stranded in a bell tower, what three things would you want with you: for the soul a bible, for the body a treadmill, for the mind a subscription to The State

Do you think the seminary will adequately prepare you for the priesthood: most definitely, yes

If you had three wishes, what would they be: world peace, all religions could get along together, for everyone to better live out the Gospel message (including myself)

Most difficult class in seminary: ecclesiology

If you could be a patron saint, what would it be of: the poor and seafarers

What might you choose as your personal motto: treat all with love and respect
